I’m Petronela Antemia, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Basingstoke, offering in-person and online therapy to adults, couples, and young people.
With a background in humanistic, person-centred counselling, I provide compassionate, tailored support for anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem struggles, relationship challenges, and more. I also integrate CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA), and Solution-Focused Therapy, ensuring sessions are both reflective and practical.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, lost, or unsure how to move forward. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, or low mood, finding it hard to cope with day-to-day life. Perhaps self-doubt and low self-esteem are holding you back, or relationship difficulties are leaving you feeling disconnected and unheard. Work pressures, family conflicts, and grief can also take a toll, making it difficult to find balance and clarity.
I offer specialist support in trauma and PTSD recovery, providing a safe and compassionate space for clients to process past experiences at their own pace. I also work with individuals recovering from narcissistic abuse, toxic relationships, and sexual abuse, helping them rebuild confidence, establish healthy boundaries, and regain a sense of self. Emotional regulation and anger management are key areas of my work, alongside supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those navigating autism, ADHD, or late diagnoses. I also help clients struggling with a negative relationship with food, exploring underlying emotional triggers and fostering a healthier mindset. For children and young people, I create a supportive and nurturing space where they can express themselves, develop resilience, and work through emotional challenges in a way that feels safe and empowering.

My practice is based in Basingstoke, which is easily accessible from Hook, Fleet, Alton, Farnborough, Thatcham, Reading, Tadley, Winchester, and Andover, as well as the surrounding areas.
Sessions take place at the Arena Business Centre, a welcoming and professional space with multi storey parking available onsite. The building has lift access, making it suitable for those with mobility needs. If you are travelling by public transport, there are good bus links nearby, and Basingstoke train station is just a short distance away.
For those further afield, I also offer online counselling for clients across the UK, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own home.
